Why Corners Are Where Tape Fails First

The included 3M tape on Govee permanent lights struggles most at transitions, outside corners, inside corners, and steep peaks, because that's where the strip is under the most mechanical stress. Heat and cold make it worse, since the adhesive expands and contracts with the temperature. A track solves the straight sections. Hinges and angle pieces solve the corners.

Step by Step: Running GlowTrax Around a Corner

1. Mount the straight track sections leading up to the corner first, leaving a small gap where the hinge or angle piece will connect.
2. Test fit the hinge or angle piece against the actual corner before securing it, since roofline angles aren't always a perfect 90 degrees even when they look like it.
3. Secure the connector with screws appropriate for your substrate, following the manufacturer's recommendations for your specific mounting surface.
4. Continue the straight track sections on the other side of the corner.
