A mounting track is a long-term purchase, so it's a fair question to ask what happens if something goes wrong. Here's a plain-English explanation of what the GlowTrax warranty actually covers, what it doesn't, and how to make a claim if you ever need to.
What's Covered
Every GlowTrax Classic and GlowTrax Pro kit includes a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects. That means if a section of track, a hinge, an angle piece, or an end cap arrives with a flaw in the material or the way it was formed, whether that shows up on day one or three months in, we'll replace it.
This is a manufacturer's warranty on the aluminum hardware itself. It reflects our confidence in a product built from powder-coated aluminum rather than the plastic clips most permanent lighting kits ship with by default. Manufacturing defects in aluminum extrusions are rare, but the warranty exists so you're not the one absorbing the cost if it happens.
What's Not Covered
The warranty covers manufacturing defects, not damage from installation error, severe weather events, or normal wear from years of outdoor exposure. A few specific examples:
- Damage from overtightened or incorrectly sized fasteners during install
- Cosmetic scratches from handling or shipping that don't affect function
- Fading or color change from custom paint applied after purchase
- Damage from severe impact, such as a fallen tree branch or storm debris
The warranty also covers the GlowTrax track hardware itself, not the Govee lighting system. Your Govee lights carry their own manufacturer warranty separate from ours.
How to Make a Claim
Email [email protected] with your order number, a description of the issue, and a photo if you have one. We'll take it from there. Most claims are resolved with a straightforward replacement shipment.
Why Aluminum Holds Up Where Plastic Doesn't
Part of why the warranty conversation is simple for us is that aluminum failure modes are rare to begin with. Plastic clips yellow, crack, and lose flexibility over one to three years of sun and temperature cycling. Powder-coated aluminum doesn't share that failure pattern. That's not a warranty claim waiting to happen. It's a material choice that reduces how often anyone needs the warranty at all.
