The fastest way to tell which Govee permanent outdoor light kit you have is to read the model number on the controller box label or in the Govee Home app. H705 means Original or Lights 2 / Elite, H805 means the Costco or Sam's Club Elite, H706 means Pro, H707 means Prism, and H3A51 or H3A53 means the new 2 Pro. If you can't find a label, measure the spacing between two lights: about 16.4 in points to the H705 / H805 family, about 20 in points to the Pro.
Govee Permanent Light Model Numbers at a Glance
Govee sells several permanent outdoor light families that look similar on a roofline but are not interchangeable. Each family has its own model number prefix, and the letter at the end usually marks the kit length.
- Original (1st gen): H705A, H705B, H705C
- Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 / Elite: H705D (50 ft), H705E (100 ft), H705F (150 ft)
- Elite at Costco and Sam's Club: H805 model numbers

How to Find Your Govee Model Number
1. Check the controller box label
The control box that the light run plugs into has a printed label. Look for a model number that starts with H705, H805, H706, H707 or H3A5. This is the most reliable method.
2. Look in the Govee Home app
Open the device in the Govee Home app and check its device info or settings screen for the model number. Menu names can change between app versions, so if you can't find it, Govee support can help.
3. Search your order confirmation
Search your email for the Govee, Amazon, Costco or Sam's Club order. The listing title or receipt usually includes the model number, or at least the product name (Elite, Pro, Prism, 2 Pro) and kit length.
4. Count the lights per 100 ft
If the box and receipt are long gone, count. Each family packs a different number of lights into 100 ft:
- About 72: Original or Lights 2 / Elite (and the Costco / Sam's Elite)
- 60: Pro
- About 42: 2 Pro (Govee lists 84 per 200 ft)
- 36: Prism
5. Measure center-to-center spacing
Measure from the center of one light to the center of the next. Measure a few pairs and average them.
- About 16.4 in (417 mm): H705 or H805 family
- About 20 in: Pro (H706)
- About 28 in (reported): 2 Pro (H3A51 / H3A53)
- Roughly 33 in: Prism (H707). Govee doesn't publish this figure; it is our estimate from 72 lights per 200 ft.
6. Check for white LEDs
Set the lights to white in the app and look closely. The Original (H705A/B/C) has no dedicated white LEDs, so its "white" is mixed from red, green and blue. Lights 2 / Elite adds warm white, and the Pro, Prism and 2 Pro have both warm and cool white. This test separates the Original from the Lights 2 / Elite, which share the same spacing.

Govee H705 vs H706: What's the Difference?
This is the most common mix-up, because both are sold as Govee permanent outdoor lights in similar packaging. The H705 family (Original and Lights 2 / Elite) has lights about 16.4 in apart, about 72 lights per 100 ft, and is not cuttable, with a max of 150 ft per kit. The H706 Pro has lights about 20 in apart, 60 per 100 ft, warm and cool white, brighter heads (50 lm vs 40 lm per Govee), and cuttable runs up to 200 ft.
The spacing difference is why they need different tracks. The GlowTrax Classic Kit is drilled for H705 / H805 spacing, and the GlowTrax Pro Kit is drilled for H706 spacing. For a full breakdown, read Govee Elite vs Pro: what's different and which track fits.
What Is the Govee Elite Model Number?
It depends on where you bought it. The Elite sold by Govee and most online retailers is the Permanent Outdoor Lights 2, model H705D, H705E or H705F. The Elite sold at Costco and Sam's Club carries H805 model numbers.
The H705 and H805 lights have the same puck size and spacing, so the GlowTrax Classic fits both. However, H705 and H805 lights cannot be wired together in one run. If you have one of each, install them as separate runs. Govee also says the Lights 2 is incompatible with the first-generation H705A/B/C, so don't plan on joining those either.
